도널드 트럼프 대한민국 국회 연설

일부러 아시아 국가 배려해서 천천히, 또박또박 얘기하는 것 같다. 영어에 익숙한 사람은 조금 답답할 수 있겠지만 귀에 쏙쏙 들어오는 내용이다. 최근 북한 행태에 대해서 개탄하고 있었다면, 아래 대사에서 트럼프로부터 사이다와 같은 청량감을 느낄 수 있다.

북한은 인근 국가를 포함해 일본 남부 영토로 미사일을 발사하고, 핵실험을 하고 대륙간탄도미사일을 개발해 미국 자체를 위협하려 한다. 북한은 미국의 인내심을 유약함으로 해석해왔지만, 완벽한 오판이다. 지금의 미국은 과거와는 완전히 다르다. 오늘 나는 북한에 우리 한/미 뿐만 아니라 모든 문명 국가들을 대신해 말한다.

북한에 말한다. 우리를 과소평가 하지말고, 우리를 시험하지도 말라. 우리는 공동의 안보와 번영, 신성한 자유를 지킬 것이다.

To this day, it continues to launch missile all over the southern territory of Japan and all other neighbors. Test nuclear devices and develop ICBMs to threaten the United States itself. The regime has interpreted America's past restrain as weakness. This would be a fatal miscalculation. This is a very different administration than the United States has had in the past. Today I hope I speak not only for our country but for all civilized nations. 

When I say to the North, DO NOT underestimate us and DO NOT try us. We will defend our common security, our shared prosperity, and our sacred liberty.
